What is yttrium oxide (cas 1314-36-9)?

Chemical formula Y2O3, white with yellow powder, insoluble in water and alkali, soluble in acid. It is mainly used for manufacturing magnetic materials for microwave and important materials for military industry (single crystal; yttrium iron garnet, yttrium aluminum garnet and other composite oxides), as well as optical glass, ceramic additives, high brightness phosphor for large screen TV and other picture tube coatings.

1. The mixed rare earth obtained by decomposing brown yttrium niobium ore by extraction method contains Y2O350% and CeO2 about 4%. The rare earth nitrate solution after removing cerium is fed, and the N2O3-LiNO3 system is used to extract and group to obtain yttrium-rich rare earth. The N2O3-heavy solvent-NH4SCN system extracts and purifies yttrium, and the raffinate after grouping is yttrium-rich rare earth, which is directly concentrated, filtered and fired to prepare yttrium oxide. The chemical equation is:

Y2(C2O4)3→Y2O3+3CO2+3CO

 

2. Nano particles of metal yttrium are prepared by the uniform reduction method of alkali metal according to the following equation. The obtained by-product was removed by washing with carbonic acid at room temperature. In the washing process, the metal yttrium is oxidized to Y2O3, and the product is washed and separated by a centrifuge (15500×G).

 

Raw material: Anhydrous YCl3, 99.99% pure, no further purification is required. Crown ether (15-crown-5, 98%) needs to be dried and further purified by vacuum distillation. THF (99.94% HPLC grade reagent) is stirred with KNa alloy until a stable blue solution is obtained. The reaction device is placed in a dry box filled with N2 (<1×10-6H2O, O2), the solvent transfer uses vacuum line (133.322×10-6Pa) technology, and an alumina combustion boat is used for annealing in a tube furnace in an atmospheric environment.

 

3. At a temperature higher than 410°C, yttrium oxalate is decomposed by heating in a thermobalance at a heating rate of 5.4°C per minute.

 

4. Solvent extraction method of naphthenic acid-hydrochloric acid system. Using concentrate rich in yttrium rare earth (about 370% Y2O) as raw material, prepare 0.8mol/L REC13, pH=2~3 rare earth chloride solution as feed liquid, adopt naphthenic acid-mixed alcohol-kerosene solution Extract and purify yttrium from hydrochloric acid medium.
