Introduction
Silybin is a flavonoid lignan compound isolated from the seeds of the Compositae plant Silybum marianum. The main active ingredients are silybin, isosilybin, silybin and silybum Four isomers such as Jining can prevent liver damage caused by chemical toxins, food toxins and drugs, and promote the regeneration and repair of liver cells. They are called "natural hepatoprotective drugs". It is a white crystalline powder at room temperature, odorless, slightly bitter in taste, hygroscopic, easily soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, methanol, ethanol, slightly soluble in chloroform, and almost insoluble in water.
Uses
As early as 2000, the ancient Chinese used silybum marianum to treat liver and gallbladder diseases. It has been clinically shown that it has obvious protective and stable liver cell membrane effects; it is effective against carbon tetrachloride, thioacetamide, muscarinic, and phalloidin. Various types of liver injury caused by liver poisons such as crotaline have different degrees of protection and treatment, and it has a certain preventive effect on the increase of alanine aminotransferase caused by carbon tetrachloride. It is suitable for the treatment of chronic persistent hepatitis, chronic active hepatitis, early liver cirrhosis, liver poisoning and other diseases. In addition, this product also has strong antioxidant properties, can remove free radicals in the human body, and delay aging. It has been widely used in the fields of medicine, health care products, food and cosmetics.
Pharmacological action
About 8% of the dose of silibinin was excreted 48h after intravenous injection. Approximately 20% of the dose is excreted 48h after oral administration, of which about 80% is excreted in the form of metabolites by bile, and most of the rest is excreted in its original form.
Indications
1. It is used for the treatment of various types of acute hepatitis, chronic persistent hepatitis, chronic active hepatitis and initial cirrhosis.
2. Used for toxic liver injury.
3. Used for liver damage caused by fatty liver and cholestatic.
