Introduction


Diethyltoluenediamine refers to a mixture of two diethyltoluenediamine isomers, that is, a commercial mixture of two isomers: 3,5-diethyl-2,4-diaminotoluene 76% and 3,5-Diethyl-2,6-Diaminotoluene 24%, referred to as DETDA. It is a light yellow to reddish brown transparent liquid with ammonia smell at room temperature. It is slightly soluble in water and soluble in polar organic solvents such as alcohol, ether and ketone. It has good compatibility with polyether and polyester polyol. Long-term exposure to the air will darken the color. Diethyltoluenediamine is flammable and corrosive. Contact with skin and eyes can cause irritation and severe burns. It is harmful if swallowed. Uses


Diethyltoluenediamine is used as a chain extender for reaction injection molding polyurethane, polyurethane coatings, epoxy resins, and alkyd resin curing agents. Pesticides, dye intermediates, plastics, rubber, oil antioxidants.

Diethyltoluenediamine is an aromatic diamine curing agent for polyurethane elastomers and epoxy resins. It is used in casting, coatings, adhesives, and is also a chain extender for polyurethane and polyurea elastomers. It has a fast reaction speed with polyurethane prepolymer. It is mainly used in reaction casting polyurethane system and spray polyurethane (urea) elastic coating system. It has fast reaction speed, short demolding time, high initial strength, hydrolysis resistance, heat resistance, etc. advantage. In addition, the product can also be used as an antioxidant for elastomers, lubricants and industrial greases, as well as chemical synthesis intermediates.


Preparation method


It is made by the reaction of toluene diamine and ethylene in the presence of a catalyst at a certain temperature and pressure.

Downstream products: polyurethane chain extender, epoxy resin, alkyd resin curing agent. Pesticides, dye intermediates, plastics, rubber, oil antioxidants.
